Change the address on your pan card

A person can simply request a change of address for their PAN card online. All that is required is for a person to download the “Change Request Form” from the NSDL’s official website and complete all the fields. It is important to remember that a person’s PAN number can only be assigned to them once they have received their PAN card.
How to update your address on your PAN card online:
Step 1:
Go to the NSDL’s official website.
Step 2:
Once you reach the “Select the Category of the Applicant” option at the bottom of the page, continue scrolling down.
Step 3:
Before clicking “Select,” select the following category from the drop-down menu:
- Individual
- Partnership Firm
- Association of Persons
- Body of individua
Step 4:
Complete the PAN address change form by entering all necessary information, including name, father’s name, gender, and date of birth.
Step 5:
To make changes to a field, check the boxes next to it. You will need to enter your PAN Number in the appropriate box and select the paperless method if you would like to change your address. You can choose to submit a paperless PAN application online. The applicant must choose that.
After choosing the paperless option, you must upload
- Photograph
- Documents
- Online Signature
- Removing the requirement for hard copy documents to be provided in order to make an address change.
Step 6:
Choose “NO” in the field labeled “For Paperless PAN Application” if you want to modify your PAN card the old-fashioned way.
Step 7:
A 16-digit acknowledgment number will be provided to you along with a PAN Acknowledgment form once you have completed the PAN card form for a change of address. For future use, you must print off a copy of the document.
Step 8:
Together with the signature, we must affix two current passport-size photos to the designated space on the acknowledgment form.
Step 9:
Once you have completed the PAN Card address change form, you must enclose a demand draft or check in an envelope with the acknowledgment form and self-attested documents. Please make sure the PAN Card number is written on the back of any checks or demand drafts that you make.
Step 10:
Put “Application for PAN CHANGE REQUEST – Acknowledgment Number” as the heading on the envelope.
Step 11:
The envelope should be mailed to the Income Tax PAN Services Unit, NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Limited, 411016 Pune, 5th Floor, Mantri Sterling, Plot No.341, Survey No.997/8, Model Colony, Near Deep Bungalow Chowk.
Step 12:
Within fifteen days of the date you received the acknowledgment, the envelope needs to get to the NSDL address.
Step 13:
Your application will begin processing as soon as the NSDL receives it, and you will receive an email about it on your registered email address.
Which Documents Are Needed for a Minor to Apply for a PAN Card?
The minor’s parents or guardians may apply for a PAN card on their behalf, in accordance with the Income Tax Act. When it comes to documentation, the minor applicant’s proof of address and identity will be deemed to be the proof provided by any of the minor’s parents or guardians. The minor’s Aadhaar, not the representative’s, should be entered into the application form if Aadhaar is chosen as the proof of identity, address, or date of birth.
The following paperwork should be on hand when a minor applies for a PAN card:
Verification of Identity
One of the following documents must be submitted by the minor’s guardian:
- Ration card
- Aadhaar card
- Driver’s license
- Passport
- The government issues a photo ID card.
Verification of Address
One of the following documents must be submitted in copy form by a guardian as verification of address:
- Post office passbook, voter ID card, passport, driving license, and Aadhaar card
- Document for the registration of properties
- The most recent order for property tax assessment
- Certification of domicile
- Original address certificate signed by a municipal councilor, member of the legislature, member of parliament, or gazette officer
- Initial employer certification
copy of the following documents, no older than three months,
- Electricity bill
- Landline telephone or broadband connection bill
- Water bill
- Consumer gas connection card or the book or piped gas bill
- Bank account statement
- Depository account statement
- Credit card statement
Verification of Age
The must provide a copy of any one of the following records as evidence of the minor’s age:
- Birth Certificate
- Passport
- Aadhaar Card
- The official board’s mark sheet
- Government-issued photo ID card with a certificate of domicile
- Photo card for the Central Government Health Service Scheme
- Former military personnel Photo card for the Contributory Health Scheme
- In front of a magistrate, an affidavit is sworn and contains the date of birth.
The process of applying for a minor’s PAN card online
- Go to the NSDL Tax Information Network website and select the “Online PAN Application” link after logging on.
- Depending on your residency status, choose option 49 A or 49AA from the drop-down menu.
- Complete the online form by entering all the necessary information as requested.
- Uploading supporting documentation to the PAN application, processing the PAN application for minors, and then paying.
- Once the form has been completed, select “Submit” to see the reference number display on the screen. This reference number is used to monitor the application’s progress.
- To the address provided on the form, the PAN card will be delivered.
The process of applying for a minor’s PAN card offline
- Fill out the form by reading the instructions at https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/pan/Instructions49A.html.
- Form 49A can be downloaded at https://www.tin-nsdl.com/downloads/pan/download/Form49A_NSDL%20e-Gov_01.06.16.pdf, the official NSDL website.
- Complete the form completely, and include a copy of any pertinent documentation.
- Include two pictures of the child, but they won’t show up on the PAN card.
- Send the completed form, the necessary paperwork, and the appropriate fees to the NSDL office closest to you.
- The PAN card will be sent to the specified address following the successful completion of the verification process.
