Navi Loan App Guide: Safety, RBI Status, Lender & Complaint Contacts

Short answer: Navi is listed in RBI’s public directory of digital lending apps. Seven of the 8 lenders linked to it are in RBI’s list of registered NBFCs and one is a bank (IDFC First Bank). That is the part we could verify. It does not mean RBI approves the app, and it does not mean you will get a loan or that the terms suit you.

Based on RBI’s public records and Navi’s own pages.

Navi works with several lenders. Which lender gives you a loan is shown to you before you accept. Three names can appear, and they are not the same:

Navi’s own partners page lists 11 co-lending partners. Seven of the 8 above are on it, and the eighth is Navi Finserv itself, which Navi names as the lender on its own page. The page also names Aditya Birla Capital, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Housing Finance and Transactree Technologies, which are not linked to Navi in the RBI directory export we used. Always go by the lender named in your own loan agreement.

Seven lenders are found in the RBI list of registered NBFCs (as on 30 June 2026). IDFC First Bank is a bank, so it is not in that list. RBI’s layers show the size and regulation level of the lender (Upper is larger than Middle, Middle is larger than Base). They are not a quality score.

What Navi says about its loans

From navi.com/finserv. These are the company’s own statements, not verified by us:

  • Cash Loan of up to ₹20,00,000, with repayment periods of up to 84 months.
  • Interest rates of up to 29.96%. The page does not show an APR or a processing fee, so check both in your Key Fact Statement. Compare the APR, not only the interest rate.
  • The page says there are zero foreclosure charges.
  • Navi also offers home loans, which have their own support email (see below).

Check it yourself in 2 minutes

  1. Open your loan agreement or Key Fact Statement and note the lender’s name.
  2. Search that name in the RBI list of NBFCs. It should be there (banks are not in this list).
  3. Check that the app you installed is in the RBI Digital Lending Apps directory.
  4. Install only from the official Google Play or App Store listing, and check the developer name matches what you expect.
  5. Use our Loan App Checker to look up any other app the same way.

Before you tap Apply

  • You should receive a Key Fact Statement showing the loan amount, APR, all fees and the repayment schedule before you accept.
  • Money should be paid into your own bank account and repaid to the lender’s account, not to a person’s personal account or wallet.
  • RBI’s digital lending rules restrict apps from taking access to your contact list, files and call logs. If an app insists on them, treat that as a red flag.
  • Check the processing fee and any other charges. Be wary if someone asks for a fee in advance.
  • Look for the cooling-off period in the loan terms, which lets you exit early within a set time.

Getting calls or messages that make you uncomfortable?

Lenders and their recovery agents must follow RBI’s rules on fair treatment. If you receive threats, abusive messages or someone contacts your family or contacts to shame you, keep screenshots and call records, complain through the steps above, and report it at cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930. If someone is offering a loan or taking deposits without being a registered lender, report it on RBI’s Sachet portal.

Frequently asked questions

Is Navi listed in RBI's digital lending apps directory?

Yes. Navi appears in the RBI Digital Lending Apps directory. The directory is filled in by the lenders themselves. It is a public list, not an RBI approval or a safety rating of the app.

Who is the lender on a Navi loan?

It depends on the loan. The RBI directory links Navi to 8 lenders: Navi Finserv Limited, Kisetsu Saison Finance (India), Cholamandalam Investment and Finance, TVS Credit Services, Northern Arc Capital, IDFC First Bank, Piramal Finance and Tata Capital. Your lender is named in the Key Fact Statement and loan agreement you receive before accepting, so read that name and not just the app name.

Is Navi Finserv an NBFC?

Navi Finserv Limited (CIN U65923KA2012PLC062537) appears in the RBI list of registered NBFCs in the Middle Layer. Navi's own page names it as the lender and names Navi Fintech Private Limited as the loan service provider. The RBI directory shows it in both columns.

What loan amount and interest rate does Navi state?

Navi's page for its Cash Loan says amounts of up to ₹20,00,000, repayment periods of up to 84 months and interest rates of up to 29.96%. These are maximums, not what you will get. The APR and all fees are in your Key Fact Statement.

What is the Navi customer care number?

Navi's contact page lists +91 81475 44555 and the email cashloan.help@navi.com for customer support. Phone numbers on other websites often differ, so use the ones on Navi's own page.

How do I complain about Navi?

Write to Customer Support first. If it is not resolved in 7 days, write to the Grievance Redressal Officer at gro.navifinserv@navi.com. After that, the Principal Nodal Officer is nodaloffice@navi.com. If the matter is still unresolved after 30 days or you disagree with the reply, you can complain to RBI at cms.rbi.org.in or on 14448.

Does an RBI listing mean Navi is safe or that I will get a loan?

No. An RBI listing shows that the app and its lenders are on public RBI records. It doesn't mean RBI has approved the app, and it doesn't mean your application will be approved or that the terms suit you. Read the Key Fact Statement, the APR and all fees before you accept.
